Join author CK Field to celebrate the launch of his new book Holding Pattern, a collection of poems written around and within his experience of profound grief, change, discovery and life after loss.
“I hope you can read the book and share it with someone who has experienced loss, might feel a kinship with the work, or can identify with navigating change in a post-everything world.”
“I never imagined I’d write a book of poetry. Experiencing a total loss (the death of my wife and creative partner of 16 years) left me open to new things, for better or worse–when you’re completely decimated you have nothing to lose. New art forms, new modes of exercise, new cities. Why not? Over time, years after Sarah’s death, I began developing thoughts and fragments of language into these poems. The result is a sort of stripped down album of poems and images (the poems are paired with 35mm photographs taken during the same several years of writing).“
The book is the first release from Carriage House, a new project/studio/actual building in Fall River, Massachusetts that makes books, records, videos and is perpetually TBD.
