Jet Sparks + House Band

  • arc{hive} book + snackery 4 Market Street Warren, RI, 02885 United States (map)

Jet Sparks released her first album “What Could Not Be Buried” in 2002 under the moniker Emily Sparks, a character from a poem from Edgar Lee Masters’ “Spoon River Anthology” and subsequent Richard Buckner album, “The Hill”. It was only after touring the US that summer that she realized people were often trying to get her attention and she wasn’t turning around, since her name is not in fact, Emily.

Following that tour when she moved to Austin, Texas, she kept the “Sparks” part of the name, as it went pretty well with her nickname, Jet.

She spent 10 years in the Pacific Northwest after leaving Texas, and came back to her native Providence in 2019, writing songs and performing all along the way.

*House Band is four crack/cracked musicians and friends from Warren, RI supporting and showcasing the songs of their favorite artists by providing them with musical accompaniment in a monthly concert series at arc{hive}

Mark - pedal steel guitar
Peri - fiddle
Michael - bass
Uriah - piano, mandolin
